Nesting birds

The area is the only place in Bulgaria, where the colony of the Great Cormorant is situated on the abandoned high-voltage electric pillars.

Owing to the built up rafts and artificial islands, the number of the nesting Common Pratincole and Common Tern has increased significantly.

Totally, more than 50 bird species have been established as nesting birds at Poda Protected Site.
