Zeleni Balkani team, part of the project Life for Falcons (LIFE20 NAT/BG/001162), and local volunteers took part of the fair Nature, Hunting, Fishing 2022.

They told the guests of the fair about the Saker falcon, threats and problems which it is facing, and about the long-lasting efforts for its conservation and restoration of Bulgarian, Romanian, German and Dutch experts and organizations.

Important part of our representative on the fair was Saker falcon Romeo. In the past he was a part of the breeding group in the Wildlife Rescue Breeding Center in Stara Zagora. Now, due to his age Romeo has taken a much-deserved rest and participates only in different events as an ambassador of its species. Thus, the numerous visitors of Zeleni Balkani booth were able to see the beauty of these incredible birds.

As usual veterans in fairs and exhibitions – buzzard Misho and kestrel Vladko – accompanied Romeo on the event.

The project Securing the recovery of the endangered Saker Falcon in Bulgaria and Southern Romania (LIFE20 NAT/BG/001162) is of 5 years duration and has received funding from the LIFE Programme of the European Union.
