Alongside stories from Austria, Ireland, Portugal and Spain, Bulgaria is represented by one of Europe&#8217;s most inspiring examples of how nature can recover when people work together.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">At the heart of Bulgaria&#8217;s story are the vultures \u2013 a symbol of one of Europe&#8217;s most successful nature restoration efforts. Following decades of dedicated work by the <strong>Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds (BSPB)<\/strong> and numerous partners, griffon, Egyptian and cinereous vultures have returned to the skies above the Eastern Rhodopes. Today, the region is internationally recognised as a leading example of successful species and habitat restoration.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">But this story is about much more than birds. It is about people \u2013 local communities, teachers, children, scientists, volunteers and conservationists who are rebuilding the connection between people and nature through their shared commitment to protecting and restoring the natural world.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\"><strong>#RestoreNature<\/strong> is a Europe-wide initiative led by a coalition of more than 200 organisations and coordinated by <strong>BirdLife Europe and Central Asia, WWF, the European Environmental Bureau (EEB)<\/strong> and the environmental law organisation <strong>ClientEarth<\/strong>.
