Since 2023, this colony has established itself as the largest in the country, and in the last breeding season 91 pairs successfully raised 61 chicks.

In the global birdsong, the Dalmatian Pelicans from Bulgaria are heard alongside a New Zealand Falcon, a Black Eagle from Zimbabwe, a Giant Honeyeater from Fiji, a Bare-throated Bellbird from Paraguay, a White-throated Sparrow from Canada, a Eurasian Stone-curlew from Montenegro, a Common Hoopoe from Italy, a White Stork from Germany, a Western Capercaillie from Lithuania, an Alpine Swift from North Macedonia and a Black-necked Crane from Bhutan.

More than 100 of BirdLife International’s partner organisations chose a bird that is a symbol of their country, a familiar sound from the forest, a species of deep cultural meaning, or one whose survival is in question. The composition was created by Tim Arinaitwe from Nairobi and Axel Wild from Italy, and the song follows the birds along their migration routes.

The song is being released in partnership with Sounds Right, the global music initiative that named nature an official artist, so that part of the royalties are used for the protection and restoration of ecosystems around the world.

Birds pay no attention to the borders that people draw. Their songs travel with them across continents, along the great flyways, wherever BirdLife International’s organisations work.

One Flock. One Chorus.
