The information board presents 15 of the most commonly seen bird species in the park. They were selected, observed, and illustrated by children aged 6 to 11 who attend the literary-suggestopedic workshop for students Living Fairy Tale. The idea comes from the workshop’s founder, Anelia Penkova, and the inspiration for the project originates from Emilijan Stanev’s book Through Waters and Forests.

The children took on the roles of real researchers and ornithologists of Borisova Garden. They observed the park’s birds, studied their characteristics, and created illustrations of the species — these very drawings form the core of the board. Alongside the children’s illustrations, our team added real photographs of the birds, showcasing part of Sofia’s rich avian diversity.

The text on the board was written by Anelia Penkova, who is also a BSPB volunteer. The board was created and installed in partnership with the Green System Directorate of Sofia Municipality.
